DMSC New Members 2026

The Board at Dormont Mount Lebanon Sportsmen's Club has approved opening the club to new membership in 2026.  Application Event dates are populated on the club calendar.  Specific forms for 2026 can be found by clicking each of the buttons below.  

Club Membership

Requirements For All New Members:

New applications for membership to the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club are always welcomed. We do however, have specific requirements that every prospective member must meet prior to being approved as a member. All new prospective members are voted on an individual basis by the Executive Board and the Board of Directors which meets on a regularly monthly basis. The following criteria must be met:

  • All new applicants MUST be citizens of the United States. (Permanent status only - Temporary visas, Green Cards, etc. are not accepted)

  • All new applicants MUST be of good moral character and agree with the purpose and function of the Club.

  • All new applicants MUST have no fewer than two (2) sponsors. These sponsors must be Active Members in good standing. Your required attendence at Club events will allow you to meet and get to know Active Members who may provide sponsorship.

  • All new applicants will be subjected to a criminal background check.

Please Note: All new applicants are encouraged to hold active membership in the National Rifle Association , although approval is not determined based on the fact of such membership.

Membership Induction Process

Becoming a club member begins with prospective members attending an induction meeting, mentioned below in Step 1, which is held during January and February at the club's membership hall.  Specific dates for these meetings will be set in November or December and can be viewed on the club's calendar. Candidates shall complete all of the steps below to be considered for membership.

Step 1

Attend and sign up for membership at one of the Membership Application Events. (These are separate from a membership meeting.)

Receive and Interview and a briefing on the joining process.

Fill out a membership application, be given an application information packet, and pay a membership application fee.

Step 2

In any order the candidate shall:

Must attend a minimum of (1) work party.

Must attend a minimum of (1) monthly membership meeting.

Must attend a minimum of (1) club shooting event either as an observer or participant.

These steps must be completed before Step 3

Step 3

The candidate shall attend the Facilities Orientation and Safety Briefing Session and at the end of the session you will finish signing the application and submit the balance of dues payment.

Step 4

After successful completion of Steps 1, 2, and 3, the Board of Directors will vote on conditional membership that includes a 1 year probationary period.

Step 5

The new member must complete a one year probationary period. During this time no safety violations can occur, and the new member is limited to no more than two (2) guests per visit. Violations can cause you to lose your membership.  The Executive Range Officer will monitor this progress.

PLEASE NOTE: This application process is not open-ended.  You must complete Steps 2 and then 3 by the last scheduled FACILITIES ORIENTATION AND SAFETY BRIEFING SESSION for the year in which you applied.

Membership Types

There are several types of memberships that are offered to new applicants, they include:

 

Active Member

These are voting members that are 21 years of age or older. Presently, annual dues are $125.00 and the initiation fee is $100.00. There is also a $10.00 charge for a computer card that allows the member individual access to the club grounds and facilities.

Senior Member

These are voting members that are 65 years of age or older and have 10 years of consecutive membership. Presently, annual dues are $60.00. Since they are current members there is no initiation fee or gate card fee.

Intermediate

These are non-voting members that are 18 to 21 years of age. Presently, annual dues are $50.00 and the initiation fee is $25.00. There is also a $10.00 charge for a computer card that allows the member individual access to the club grounds and facilities.

Junior

These are non-voting members that are 12 to 17 years of age. Presently, annual dues are $25.00 and the initiation fee is $3.00. Any application for junior membership must include the written consent of the applicant's parent or legal guardian. It is preferred that the parent or legal guardian be an active member in good standing.

Spousal member

As a spouse of an active or a life member you are eligible for Spousal Membership. Presently, annual dues are $60.00 and there is a $100.00 initiation fee. A gate card is available for $10.00.

Life Membership:

Life Membership is available for Active members by the one-time payment of (currently) 10 times the current annual dues or $1250. Life members are exempt from annual dues. Applicants for life membership must be an active member for a minimum of 10 years and must make application to the Board of Directors in writing.
